Yeah, I didn't update the blog for the past week. I was a little busy, didn't have any finished articles left, and had only drafts in different states of completion. Anyway, I'm going to the airport tomorrow and taking my flight to Canada. Good luck to you all. When I will make access into the Internet, I will write a photo-report.

Да, последнюю неделю ничего не выкладывал вообще. Был немного занят, а статьи готовые закончились, остались только черновики разной степени готовности. В общем, завтра еду в аэропорт, и лечу в Канаду. Всем удачи. Когда появится выход в интернет, наберу фото-отчет.

Firefly

I have a confession to make. Until year 2011, I’ve never seen Firefly. I’ve heard about it, I knew it was a very good TV series with a difficult fate, I knew that Nathan Fillion rocks (truth be told, I’ve never seen any of his works until the end of the previous year; and yes – I’m very ashamed of that), I knew that the series were unique in their own way and that everyone was mad at Fox for cancelling it. But still, it was a while till I brought myself to watch it. That’s not so unusual. It can take 5-7 years for me to check something everyone is a fan of, and then become a fan myself (or ask myself a question ‘So why does everybody like it?’) Anyway, the thing is, as it turned out, I’m not the only one who hasn’t seen Firefly yet. So I decided to tell a bit about it.

«Светлячок» («Firefly»)

Мне нужно в кое-чем признаться. До 2011 года, я не смотрел «Светлячка» («Firefly»). Я о нем слышал, знал что очень хороший сериал с непростой судьбой, знал что там Нэйтан Филлион крут (причем я до конца прошлого года не видел лично ни одной его работы, за что мне тоже очень стыдно), знал что сериал в некотором роде уникальный и все злятся на телеканал «Fox» за то, что они в свое время его отменили. Зная все это, руки до просмотра как-то шли долго. Вообще, для меня это не такая уж и редкость: в течение 5-7 лет доходить до вещи, от которой все тащятся, и наконец начинать тащиться самому (или же, наоборот, задаться вопросом «И что здесь такого?») Но дело в том, что, как выяснилось, не я один не смотрел этот сериал. Поэтому решил, что неплохо было бы рассказать про него всем.

Favorite movie trailers

I like trailers. In fact, I like some trailers more than the movies they're advertising (and there are some trailers which are REALLY better than the movies). I would say that thanks to trailers I started another hobby - video-editing (one of my first experiences was, if I'm not mistaken, a fan-trailer for Evil Islands; unsurprisingly in fact, considering it's my favorite game). I don't have many finished works on the Internet (and most of them are hard to find), but there is one you can easily watch: Tales of Monkey Island game fan-trailer (the developers liked the trailer, and with my permission they've done their own variant based on mine). While uploading it on YouTube, thought, a glitch has appeared near the end of the video - the last 30 seconds of sound and video are desynchronized a bit. Considering how I like the harmony between visual stuff and audio, this bothers me a lot, although I still didn't fix this for some reason. But I digress. Любимые трейлеры к кинофильмам

Мне нравятся трейлеры. Некоторые трейлеры мне даже нравятся больше самих фильмов, которые они рекламируют (а некоторые трейлеры по факту качественнее фильмов). В принципе, как раз трейлеры в свое время и стали причиной появления нового хобби – видео-монтажа (одним из первых опытов, если не изменяет память, был трейлер к, как это ни странно, «Проклятым землям»). Из законченных работ, в интернете легко можно посмотреть мой фан-трейлер к игре «Tales of Monkey Island» (трейлер разработчикам понравился, и они с моего разрешения сделали свой вариант на его основе). Только вот при заливке на «YouTube» в самом конце какой-то глюк – последние 30 секунд идет рассинхрон звука и видео, что меня очень раздражает (и что я никак почему-то не исправлю), т.к. сочетание музыки и изображения, как они гармонируют друг с другом, для меня очень важно. Но, я отвлекся. Представляю вам список моих любимых трейлеров к фильмам.

Inception Game Ideas

A few months ago, the director of Inception, Christopher Nolan, told about his plans to develop a game based on the movie. Of course, it’s only on the stage of talking and discussing ideas at the moment, we won’t hear anything about this game in a few years I guess. But still, it has been always fun to fantasize and speculate about some things, so I decided to think what a game based on Inception could look like. (There really aren't any spoilers, but you may want to watch the movie first before reading this).

Несколько месяцев назад, Кристофер Нолан, режиссер фильма «Inception» («Начало»), рассказал о планах создания игры по мотивам. Пока что, конечно, идет только процесс обсуждения и о игре в течение ближайших лет мы наверняка ничего слышать не будем, но спекулировать и фантазировать всегда и во все времена было достаточно весело. Вот я и решил поразмыслить, что может представлять из себя игра по «Inception». (Спойлеров нет, но возможно, не посмотрев фильм, лучше не читать).

Fifth Graduation Group of the Amadeus Lyceum - Making acquaintance

We have a very strange educational system in Moldova. 12 forms, 1-4 are elementary level, 5-9 - secondary, 10-12 - lyceum. Complete 9 forms and it's considered that you have a partial High School education, but the exams in 12th form are for bachelor's degree. Yeah, we get bachelor's degree. And then win admission into a supreme educational institute. Even though 12 forms is, basically, just a full High School education. Don't look at me that way, I don't fully understand this myself. Anyway, 12 years of learning I've spent in 5 different institutes. I have warm memories of each and every one, but the brightest are of the lyceum (and not just because it was the last so far).

Пятый выпуск лицея «Амадеус» - знакомство

У нас в Молдове весьма странная образовательная система. 12 классов, с 1 по 4 – начальные, с 5 по 9 – гимназиальные, с 10 по 12 – лицейные. За 9 классов получаем неполное среднее образование, а в 12 сдаем бакалауреат. Да, мы получаем степень бакалавра. И с этой степенью поступаем в ВУЗ. Хотя по факту это вроде как полное среднее. Не смотрите на меня так, я сам не секу фишки. В любом случае, 12 лет школьного образования я провел аж в 5 учебных заведениях. Приятные воспоминания связаны у меня со всеми, но самые яркие (и не только потому что недавние) связаны с лицеем.
