Extra Credits - weekly internet video broadcast about Game Design
I think that the main factors of making progress in a profession are personal experience and sharing said experience. Game Design is not an exception. But, interesting thing is, people are pondering about many different questions which are not really discussed about, on the Internet at least. Let's take Gamasutra for example: there are a lot of articles written by developers which are pretty interesting, and it's useful for members of all game developer professions to read them. On the other hand, a hefty percentage of information there is... Well... How to put it... Not worn out, but they don't have a feeling of a shared experience. That concerns even a number of Post-Mortems - sometimes it's better to find somewhere a more 'personal' article written by a developer, than a more sterilized for a professional resource article by the same developer. And this is why I like Extra Credits - it examines different aspects of Game Design and games in general through the personal experience of it's makers. Besides, the mentioned aspects are rarely looked upon on many other Internet sources. All in all, Extra Credits presents an interest both to game developers and to gamers, so I suggest everyone to check it up. Extra Credits comes out every Thursday.
